This traditional pieced block can be made with just two colours, but in our tutorial we've added a twist by using three colours.
To make this block you will need rotary cutter, mat, acrylic ruler and sewing machine. Fork pins to aid in matching seams and a small square for squaring up your patches will help you achieve better results by ensuring accuracy.
Fabric Requirements: Colour One - 9" x 21", Colour Two - 8" x 16" and Colour Three - 6" x 6"

From the 9" x 21" Colour One cut the following: One 5 1/4" square. Cut two 4 7/8" squares. Cut four 2 7/8" squares. Do keep track of which triangles are which! | |

From the 8" x 16" Colour Two cut the following: Cut two 4 7/8" squares. Cut four 2 1/2" squares. Cut one 4 1/2" square. (Centre square patch) | |

From the 6" x 6" Colour Three cut the following:

PIECING
Machine piece using 1/4" seams.

Make four side patches following the illustration. Each should measure 4 1/2" square. | |

Make four corner patches following the illustration. Each should measure 4 1/2" square. |
Lay out all your patches with the 4-1/2" square as the block's center.
Sew three horizontal rows.
Sew the rows together, and the Aunt Dinah block is done.
Your block should measure 12 ½″
