Books We Love - Quilted Symphony by Gloria Loughman

 The brand new book Quilted Symphony--A Fusion of Fabric, Texture & Design by Gloria Loughman is a wonderful book full of helpful information on creating art quilts.

Gloria is a talented artist and brilliant teacher (we were fortunate to have her teach some workshops at Quilters World), and her books reflect this. In this book she provides great ideas that simplifies the making of art quilts.  You'll learn how to create an abstract design and then break it down into easy segments to sew. The book contains four projects with full size pullout patterns. 

Another excellent book by Gloria is Luminous Landscapes: Quilted Visions in Paint & Thread which shows how to create unique landscape quilts from photos.

If you're like us and take a more traditional approach to quiltmaking you can still benefit from the ideas on embellishing and how to use colour effectively. And both books are as beautiful to peruse as they are inspirational to learn from!
