There's plenty of coming and going taking place in the Western Australian town of Northam. People are always arriving and leaving - the explorers back in colonial times used it as a departure point, as did fossickers and miners during the days of the gold rush. It was once the largest immigrant receiving facility in WA. And back in 2002 a hot air balloonist left Northam and became the first to float around the world.
Then there are the quilting ladies, who are having a grand old time in Northam.
Pauline had the most fantastic day teaching these girls quilting during their two day class. The first day was all practice, practice and more practice. The second day they brought their quilts along and got down to some seriously fun quilting.
They all did such a superb job. It was like they had been quilting for years. Unfortunately like many who came before her, Pauline had to leave. Look out next year though!
