Minlaton is situated a couple hundred kilometres west of Adelaide, in the Yorke Peninsula. This picturesque area was originally called 'Gum Flat' because it's the only place in the Southern Yorke Peninsula where red gums grow naturally. The name was later changed to Minlaton, which is derived from the local Aboriginal word 'minlacowie' which means, 'sweet water'.
It's a 'sweet' place alright and we just love this part of South Australia. The quilters there are pretty sweet too.
Gosh these girls were so keen to learn quilting - they stitched there little hearts out all day long.
To you all thank you for such a great day. We love visiting your great town and can't wait to come back.
