While walking among the quilts at the exhibition we kept our eyes open for those from Australian quiltmakers.
It wasn't hard when we saw this small crazy quilt to guess it was done by an Aussie. Of course you can be fooled sometimes, as we both thought that Dixie Dingo Dreaming was made by an Australian Quilter.
Australia Crazy by Linda Steele of Victoria
We also saw Linda's creation - Naturally Crazy which took 3rd place in the Embellished category.
This quilt is a hand embroidered crazy quilt featuring Australia in the centre, surrounded by 12 other countries of the world.
Having seen many of Ruth Bloomfield's creations, we knew right away that the Scarlet Honeymaker was created by her.
When we spied the next Australian bird, the Rainbow Lorikeet we even guessed it was Helen Godden's magnificent creation. This beauty received an Honorable Mention for the Art Painted Surface category.
Another quilt that received an Honorary Mention, in the Art Abstract category was Fantasy Seedpods by Elizabeth Camping of South Australia.
In the Mini Quilt category an Aussie quiltmaker took 1st place - Mariya Waters of Victoria quilt Mini Magic.
